Frequently Asked Questions
General Information
Do I need to make a reservation?
It would be best to make an appointment to minimize waiting time especially on weekends. However, for eyebrow services, since the service is very quick, you may walk-in if you wish to.
Do you have a cut-off time?
We follow the Mall schedule but there are instances where the branch might impose a cut-off time (i.e. there is an influx of customers) in order to accommodate all customers until the Mall’s closing time.
I cannot make it to my appointment, what to do?
If you are running late or cannot make it to your appointment, please let us know ahead of time so we may do our best to accommodate you at the earliest convenience. We give a 10-minute grace period however, after this period, priority will be given to the next appointment and/or to walk-ins.
What if I am pregnant?
Eyebrow grooming is generally safe, however for any other treatments like waxing, we would need a clearance from your OB prior to the treatment to guarantee your safety.
Service Information
EYEBROWS & THREADING
How long do the results of threading last?
The results of threading can last up to four weeks depending on the person’s hair growth. We recommend you to visit once every 3-4 weeks to maintain your brows.
Do you wax the eyebrows?
No we don’t. The skin around the face is very sensitive and so we only recommend threading as the hair removal option. Unlike waxing, threading is precise and can even remove the finest and shortest hairs. It also does not remove the upper layer of skin and can be done even on sensitive skin.
Do you offer eyebrow tattoo or microblading?
No we currently do not offer eyebrow tattoo or microblading.
Can men have their brows threaded?
Definitely! We love seeing our male clients. Many men come to us to have their brows groomed. Don’t worry, as threading is so precise you can just have a clean up so you are sure that you won’t walk out with overly feminine or shaped brows… unless you request for it.
I overplucked my brows, how long before I can come in for brow shaping?
We recommend waiting 3-4 weeks or until some of the brow hair have grown back before you come for brow shaping. If you removed too many hairs, have patience and let those shorter hairs grow so we can shape it properly.
I have very sensitive skin, will I get red from threading?
Everyone has a different level of skin sensitivity. If you find that you do have very sensitive skin, you will probably experience some redness after threading, but it usually subsides within an hour. After threading, we apply an alcohol-free toner to clean and calm the skin followed by a soothing cream to reduce irritation.
Can I get threaded before or after a facial?
In general, we recommend that you thread 24 hours before or after a facial to avoid any reaction. If you must thread on the same day, we recommend threading after your facial. However, if you have sensitive skin, please wait at least 24 hours when possible.
How long does the eyebrow tint last?
Tint usually lasts from 2-3 weeks depending on how the client takes care of it and also on their hair type. Some have brow hairs in which the color stays on longer, while some easily fades. It also depends on your activity and day-to-day routine.
Is the tint similar to a tattoo?
No it is not. In brow tint, we only apply the color to the brow strands to help you achieve a fuller look while tattoo is a semi-permanent procedure where they deposit ink into the top layer of the dermis.
I have thin brows, will brow tint help me achieve fuller brows?
Unfortunately, not everyone can have Brow tint. We highly recommend it to those with thick brow strands because the color is only applied to the hair and not on the skin. If your brow hair is thin or sparse, you will not be able to appreciate the full effect of the tint because the tint won’t have much hair to stick to.
LASH EXTENSION / PERM
How long will the Eyelash Extensions last?
Eyelash extensions usually lasts 2-4 weeks depending on the person’s natural lash growth cycle and how they take care of it. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, you may need to come back for a retouch every 2 to 3 weeks.
Is eyelash extension safe?
Yes. We use medical-grade adhesive that does not come in contact with your skin. Synthetic eyelashes adhere about 1mm away from your skin.
How long will it take to apply eyelash extensions and how is it done?
The application process for lash extensions normally takes about 1 – 1 ½ hours. The extensions are applied one at a time to your lashes.
Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?
No, eyelash extensions are designed to give your natural lashes and improved look of fullness so mascara is not needed.
Can I have my extensions removed even if it was done in other salons?
Unfortunately, we only remove lash extensions applied in Brow Lounge. This is because we use a specific product line of lash extensions, from adhesive to remover and this may not be compatible with what other lash salons may have used.
Can I get an Eyelash Extensions even if I just had a perm a month ago?
An eyelash perm lasts 2-3 months. In that case, we cannot perform Eyelash extensions since the lashes are curled and the extensions will not properly adhere to the real lashes. You have to wait until your real lashes return to the straight condition.
What is Lash Perm?
This procedure adds curl to straight lashes, giving you the appearance of fuller lashes. This treatment is great for those with relatively straight lashes, with no need to use tricky lash curlers every day.
What is the difference of a Lash Lift from a Lash Perm?
Essentially, they are exactly the same treatment where they both aim to curl straight lashes. The only difference between these two treatments is the rods used to curl the lashes. Lash Perm adds a definite curl to the lash creating a C shaped lash while lash lift, “lifts” the lash from the base of the eyelid, and adds a more subtle curl.
WAXING
How long is long enough for my hair to get waxed?
Best length is when hair has grown at least 1/8 inch or preferably about ¼ inch (6mm). Any sooner can lead to a greater chance of ingrown hairs.
How long should I come back after my waxing?
You may come back for maintenance every 3-6 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. If the hair is too short, we suggest you wait for it to be at least 1/8 – ¼ inch.
Why is my skin red after waxing/sugaring?
This is a normal reaction and the redness and bumps should disappear within an hour.
I have my period, can I still get a bikini wax?
For hygienic purposes, we will not wax any client that is currently on her period to ensure your safety as well as that of our specialists. During your period, your body tends to be much more sensitive than normal, making pain from waxing feel more.
I am getting married/have a big event coming up, when should I get my waxing done?
We recommend coming in for waxing 3-4 days before your wedding/big event.
Do you double-dip on wax?
As a company practice, double dipping is strictly not allowed. Each stick is discarded once it has been dipped.
Should I take any pain medication before my visit?
It is not necessary but if you have a low pain tolerance, taking Ibuprofen 30 minutes before your procedure will help.
What if I have allergies, acne, or am taking medications or whitening products?
If you have allergies, or are taking any medications, please inform your technician as Antibiotics and topical acne medications (like Accutane, Retin A, or whitening products) can make your skin more sensitive and potentially susceptible to some reactions and affect skin integrity.
Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
Not at all! With each waxing visit, your hair will begin to grow back at a finer texture. It becomes easier and quicker to remove with each visit. The more you wax, the less it hurts!
